  • Molecular and supramolecular ingenering of fonctional π-conjugated sytems
  • Design and synthesis of 10 nm long well defined π-conjugated oligomers for molecular electronics (ANR transfilsen)
  • Design and synthesis of π-conjugated "low band gap"
  • Design and synthesis of π-conjugated polyelectrolyte oligomers and polymers
  • Functionalization of SWNT with π-conjugated systems

Synthesis of star shaped ligands for the supramolecular assemblies of large spherical molecular cages by coordination chemistry.

  • Design and synthesis of rotaxane molecular switches based on aromatic π-donor/π-acceptor interactions. An electronic device will be prepared in collaboration with the Stoddart group.
  • Study of combinatorial dynamic library of catenanes templated by Li+ and Na+.
  • Studies of aromatic π-donor/π-acceptor interactions by AFM.

Research Advisor : Professor Yves Rubin.

  • Developed and synthesized the largest open fullerene. Investigated the unusual mechanism by trapping the reactive intermediate. Applied 2-D NMR (T-ROSY) techniques to elucidate the stereoselectivity.
  • Studied the Insertion of helium and hydrogen into our open fullerene in collaboration with Professor Saunders at Yale University.
  • Worked on the possibility of synthesizing an open fullerene with a larger hole.
  • Synthesis of C62 derivatives, novel nonclassical fullerenes containing a four membered ring.
  • Synthesized carbon rich molecules.
